Pilates for Menopause

Interested in deepening her understanding of women's health, Ellie completed specialist training with Menopause Movement, an evidence based, multi-disciplinary menopause training course.

Reformer Pilates is ideal for menopausal women because it is gentle on the joints and helps build lean muscle mass, which can help increase metabolism and regulate weight. To build lean muscle you need to work the muscle under resistance which is exactly what Reformer Pilates does.

Incorporating strength training into our routines not only helps combat age-related muscle loss but also diminishes the risk of cardiovascular issues and offers protection against Alzheimer’s and dementia. Embracing strength training is also essential for keeping bones strong and warding off osteoporosis. As we hit menopause, our bone density takes a hit, but a solid strength training routine can bounce it back and even help us grow new bone.

Regular strength workouts like Reformer Pilates are like magic for our hormones, sprinkling feel-good endorphins throughout our bodies, lifting our mood levels and lowering cortisol levels.

Don’t let menopause hold you back from feeling your best self!
